A local kid in Port Royal Jamaica takes time out to open an almond with a piece of brick. Almond trees are everywhere and the fallen nuts provide a convenient snack.
A nesting peacock found at a gem of a bird sanctuary in the mountains of central Jamaica.
A Jamaican Pea Dove relaxing "at home".
Boys taking a break from playing football (soccer) in an open banana patch. This is in rural Jamaica and any open space is just as good for a few kicks. As you may notice the ball in the lower right hand corner is the color of the ground. This is an area of the island where bauxite mineral is mined and the dirt has a bright reddish color. Mom is going to have a hard time getting the red stain out of those jeans!
This is so much fun......
What you looking at? Pebbles at the beach.
The Boogie Boarder
A heated standoff between an Occupy Charlotte demonstrator (on the right) and an Anti-abortionist. The anti-abortionists descended on the Occupy grounds to steal the spotlight. Needles to say the cops had to intervene. Freedom of speech is so much fun.

A fisherman's canoe in the rural Jamaica fishing village of Boston, Portland. Boston is also known as the birthplace of the famous Jamaica Jerk Seasoning. Best place on the island for all things jerk.
A section of an old abandoned building in rural Jamaica. I have been driving across the country and documenting the decline of local infrastructure. The photograph may have vibrant colors but it belies the desperate conditions in most rural areas of the country.

Cricket, lovely Cricket! Boys at play in rural Jamaica. You do not need much to play this game. A ball, a bat and three pieces of stick on a flat surface. Voila!

West end view of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. One of a series of photos I took over a 24 hour period for the Light Factory's 2011 City Block Project in Charlotte NC. The building to the left is the Duke Energy building which changes colors on the hour each night. In this shot it was green and reflected off the buildings close to it. Through PP I extended that to the main HOF building on the right.
Duke Energy Tower - Charlotte NC. This new addition to the city's skyline has been spectacular.
